The number of travel job placements increased in July and remained at near-record levels, according to the latest figures from C&M Travel Recruitment and C&M Executive Recruitment. With a rise of five per cent from June, last month's total number of travel job placements was the fifth highest since November 2017. It was also the highest figure ever recorded for the month of July since the index began in 2012, standing 149 per cent above July 2021 and up by 74 per cent from July 2019, up by 49 per cent from July 2018, up by five per cent from July 2017 and up by eight per cent from July 2016. Candidate and vacancies both rise The volume of new candidates searching for travel jobs also remained historically high in July with a two per cent rise from the previous month. Despite being down by 24 per cent from July 2021 (which was the highest number in the past four years), last month's figure was up by 45 per cent from July 2019 and up by 44 per cent from July 2018. Similarly, the number of new travel jobs being created in July 2022 increased by 14 per cent from June. The figure was down by 19 per cent from July 2021, but was up by 14 per cent from July 2019, down by two per cent from July 2018 and up by eight per cent from July 2017.
