Abatable announces the launch of new marketplace for high-quality carbon offsets to help carbon credit buyers achieve their climate goals

SOUTHWARK, U.K. - July 27, 2022 - PRLog -- Abatable, a carbon intelligence and procurement platform, has launched a new carbon offsets marketplace. Companies will be able to browse, compare and purchase carbon credits from a broad range of carbon projects by pre-vetted carbon developers. The goal of the marketplace is to offer only high quality offsets that can confidently be used by companies in their net zero strategies. Building trust in the voluntary carbon market and in carbon developers is a necessary step in the fight to address climate change.
Every project listed on the marketplace has undergone a rigorous assessment process based on Abatable's quality assessment framework. On average only 1 in 10 projects satisfies the criteria to be listed on the marketplace. Companies are able to purchase between 100 and 10,000 credits from individual projects or as part of a bespoke portfolio.
The majority of the projects on the marketplace are verified under methodologies from established standards such as Verra. Projects based on emerging technological solutions are also included after undergoing a rigorous review process that has satisfied the 6 quality pillars used by Abatable as a core of the quality assessment framework. The framework was developed in conjunction with Abatable's Technical Advisory board and is the first transparent and systematic approach to review the quality of both the carbon project and the project developer behind it. Abatable's goal is to gradually increase the number and types of projects listed in order to satisfy the complex requirements of companies looking to retire credits. The company is also planning to launch thematic portfolios as part of the marketplace offering.
