Bay Area SMACNA appoints first Latina to its board of directors, Michelle Acosta of Acosta Sheet Met

SAN JOSE, Calif. - July 25, 2022 - PRLog -- The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association, Bay Area Chapter (Bay Area SMACNA), part of an international trade association representing 3,500 contributing contractor firms and a leader in promoting quality and excellence in the sheet metal and air conditioning industry, announced Michelle Acosta has been named to its board of directors. The first Latina to join the Bay Area SMACNA board, Acosta is Vice President of Operations and Marketing at Acosta Sheet Metal Manufacturing, Inc., a family-owned sheet metal manufacturer based in San Jose.

"Michelle is a true leader and motivator," said SMACNA Labor Relations Manager Kathy de Jong. "She is a constant learner who seeks to elevate the industry through innovation, collaboration, and in attracting and retaining the best talent through diversity, equity, and inclusion."

An experienced marketing professional and industry leader, Acosta was also recently named one of the Silicon Valley Business Journals' 2022 Women of Influence.
