Follow on Google News | CEON Foundation, CEO Netweavers, and Ron Clark Academy to host free event on August 11Ron Clark, the renowned forward-thinking educator whose career inspired a TV feature, The Ron Clark Story, and Atlanta organizations including CEON Foundation and CEO Netweavers, will host a free event with inaugural college scholarship recipients.
By: CEO Netweavers Clark will share his personal and professional story about the formation of the Atlanta-based Ron Clark Academy to include his teaching career which began in the 1990s at an elementary school in his North Carolina hometown. There, he was known for his innovative teaching methods which resulted in raising test scores. Clark later taught in a difficult New York inner city school, Inner Harlem Elementary School, where students were sorted academically according to their potential, and where Clark took on the most challenged students. He successfully developed a method of education to inspire diverse young people onto graduating high school, pursuing college, and careers. Ron Clark Academy graduates who pursue college are supported with scholarships from the CEON Foundation, founded in 2021 by CEO Netweavers in Atlanta. The nonprofit organizations support students with living expenses so they can focus on education and pairings with mentors who help students with positive experiences in higher education. During the August 11 event, four student scholarship recipients will share their experiences including Maleigha Cooper, a student at the University of Georgia with a double major in philosophy and African American studies.
