World Class Vocal Group Brings A Motown Christmas to Weinberg Center

FREDERICK, Md. - July 13, 2022 - PRLog -- A Motown Christmas brings past and present members of The Temptations, The Miracles, and The Contours to the Weinberg Center for the Arts in Frederick, Maryland, Friday, December 2 at 8:00 PM.

Tickets start at $47 and go on sale to Weinberg Center members Thursday, July 14 at 10:00 AM and to the public at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 19. Tickets may be purchased online at WeinbergCenter.org, by calling the box office at 301-600-2828, or in person at 20 West Patrick Street.

Created in 2015 and touring to packed audiences across the country ever since, A Motown Christmas has cemented itself as a holiday tradition and an inspiring performance that features musical dance numbers to many of Motown's greatest records and classic Christmas hits. Featuring a world-class vocal group from past and present members of Motown's most legendary groups, their harmonies will rejuvenate your soul and spirit in this performance full of holiday cheer. Writer and director Nate Jacobs (who is also the Founder and Artistic Director of the Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe), shared his inspiration for the piece stating his strong desire to "preserve a piece of our history within the Black Theatre." Incorporating some favorite traditional carols as well as many original Christmas songs recorded by Motown's celebrated artists like The Supremes, The Temptations, and The Jackson 5, this will be a magical performance you and your family will be sure to remember and enjoy. According to Jacobs, the heartfelt performance speaks to "… world peace, world love, the true meaning and spirit of Christmas, and what it truly means to help the world be a better place."
