This project is our team's effort to create a free online tabletop roleplaying game that has an in-character social media network and the ability to create any content that a user may desire. We tell people Horizon Drifters is like Dungeons and Dragons meets Facebook meets Wikipedia.

Horizon Drifters uses a traditional tabletop roleplaying game as the architecture for a new kind of online gaming experience. Horizon Drifters is somewhere between a platform like Roll20.net or Fantasy Grounds, but the role of Game Master is filled by a bot and each section of the Episode will be introduced by a voice actor. Episodes, our term for adventures, will run half an hour to an hour.

The game is designed to be chat based with buttons for Actor (our term for Player) abilities. The setting is the Milky Way Galaxy hundreds of years in the future. Our Star, Sohlsta, made its presence known to the human population then humanity spread to the stars. Once there, it found that it was a very small fish in an endless ocean.

The game itself will be text based with voice actor narration, animated buttons for skill checks, and a combat battlefield similar to what you'd see on Roll20 (our maps are all hex). You'll be able to play with your friends or strangers anytime you want since the job of game master will have been automated. You will essentially be able to join a game anytime you want, and once the lobby of 5 fills up, the game begins.

Our CEO and lead designer spent 20 years in college, graduating with an AS in liberal arts and a BA in creative writing. Dave Berry, the creative partner, has worked with a number of bands throughout his life and has been involved in numerous creative projects over the years. Christian Larson, our art director, is a trained classical artist who works in multiple mediums. We have a lot of faith in our team.
