How are we different from "Day Care"? Our campers are offered off leash socialization experiences in small groups and are always supervised by a trained camp counselor who is physically present with the campers. What makes Unleashed! different? Our Unleashed! Day Camp program was designed and implemented by Karen McCarthy. Karen holds a Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Simmons College and completed her mentor hours at Boston MSPCA's Behavior Department. Karen McCarthy is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA), a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC), a Pet Partner Evaluator, an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen and STAR Puppy Evaluator, a professional member of the Association for Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), and an Authorized Mentor Trainer for Animal Behavior College. She also has a Citation in Animal Cognition from The Harvard University Extension School. Unleashed! camp counselors bring with them a passion for dogs and a variety of skills. All counselors participate in a two-week in-house training program and complete Pet and Human First Aid Training.
