Fireworks display in downtown San Jose's Discovery Meadow returns

SAN JOSE, Calif. - June 14, 2022 - PRLog -- With support from the office of Mayor Sam Liccardo and the Office of Cultural Affairs the downtown-based Rotary Club of San Jose is bringing fireworks back to San Jose as a gift to the community in celebration of Independence Day. Rotary Fireworks Downtown is an entirely free firework show held at Discovery Meadow Park, near the Children's Discovery Museum in downtown San Jose, on the night of the 4th of July. The event provides the community with a fantastic and extremely accessible way to celebrate Independence Day in one of the most traditional ways.

"On behalf of San Jose, I am thrilled to welcome back the Rotary Club's beloved fireworks show for this year's Independence Day," said City of San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo. "As we gather for what will surely be a spectacular show, residents and neighbors of all ages will once again enjoy the kind of large-scale, community celebration of our country that our city deserves."

The Rotary Fireworks Downtown Committee organizes the City of San Jose's annual signature fireworks display, while creating a model for sustainability. Entertainment, provided by San Jose Jazz, will start at 7pm with fireworks to follow at 9:30pm, lasting approximately 25 minutes.

"We are excited to be able to deliver this amazing gift to our community," said Rotary Club President Steve Borkenhagen. "The perfect way to bring people together to celebrate, these fireworks are a long-standing San Jose tradition and one we hope will be enjoyed by everyone."

Note: Dogs on leash are welcome. Public transportation is strongly encouraged as nearby streets will be closed.
