Klevr partners with 1616 to promote mental fitness and wellbeing

TORONTO - June 14, 2022 - PRLog -- Former teammates are teaming back up, this time off the ice. Two-time Stanley Cup winner, and Klevr.ai Co-Founder, Kris Versteeg, is partnering with Two-time Stanley Cup winner Andrew Ladd, founder of 1616. Kris and Andrew teamed up on the ice in 2010 when they won the Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks, and the two have remained friends ever since.

1616 is a 16-week mental, physical, and social wellbeing experience for youth hockey teams that blends real-life stories and on-ice drills from the best hockey players in the world with research-based youth mental wellbeing curriculum and tools. 1616's goal is to shift the youth hockey landscape to emphasize not only hockey performance, but also the development of connections, confidence and character in young athletes. "With 1616, we are looking to develop strong minds, stronger athletes, and thriving kids." said Ladd.

Versteeg and his team have been impacting the youth sports landscape themselves with Klevr, a mobile app which is focused on bringing expert coaching tools to every athlete and parent on one platform.  It provides athletes with unfettered access to the best coaches around the globe.  Athletes have been limited to coaches within their location, but now with Klevr, athletes are capable of tapping into a network of coaches to seek real-time feedback, no matter where they reside.

The app allows players to capture important moments, clip them and share with their friends, families and coaches.  Coach Mode allows coaches to review player clips, make real-time annotations, and breakdown play frame-by-frame, giving players the ability to learn instantly.

No longer do players have to put together highlight reels for colleges or scouts.  Klevr stores all of your clips and feedback right in your player profile, and acts as an agent for coaches on the app to find players and connect. "Expert coaching tools should be accessible to everyone.  Klevr is a team of pro and amateur athletes, coaches, and parents that have personally experienced the need for professional-quality tools to serve the 99% of underserved athletes," says Versteeg.

As Klevr focuses on re-defining the youth sports landscape, they can now lean on a familiar face in Ladd to help shape and strengthen the minds of the young players through 1616. "We recommend that all the athletes on our platform get involved with 1616. Through the program's weekly lessons, starting with amazing story videos from pro hockey players, we believe players are learning more and more about themselves, which is key to performance both on and off the ice" said Versteeg.

Klevr and 1616 will continue to focus on impacting the youth sports landscape, and having both Versteeg and Ladd working together again is a recipe for success.
