EV charger subsidy scheme launched by Delhi Govt in coordination with Tata Power-DDL

DELHI, India - June 14, 2022 - PRLog -- To make Delhi clean and green, the government of Delhi launched the Switch Delhi Campaign in the National Capital Territory (NCT) in coordination with DISCOMs to encourage the citizens of Delhi to switch from polluting petrol and diesel vehicles to electric vehicles. To increase the sale of EVs, especially for two and four-wheelers the campaign was launched waiving off registration charges, and road tax, and providing extensive subsidiaries. A two or three-wheeler electric vehicle customer has to pay only Rs. 2500 for getting a charging point installed after the subsidy.  The scheme targets domestic and semi-public sites in the national capital region.

As India is the fourth largest Green House Gas emitter worldwide, this campaign was launched to create awareness of EVs and EV charger subsidies.  A single window facility is available for the installation of private EVs via a phone call and online in which a customer can avail one charging point. Tata Power-DDL has already selected 12 vendors for the installation of charges.

To avail the single window facility of the Delhi Government, the consumer can visit the Tata Power- DDL website EV portal or by calling Tata Power-DDL Sampark Kendra @19124. The installation of these EV chargers will be completed in seven working days after the submission of the request.

EV charger subsidy details:

For Private Property Owner:

• Subsidy on only 1 charging point per consumer

For Semi-Private Property Owner

• CAPEX model-Subsidy allowed to Maximum of 20 charging
• OPEX model- subsidy allowed to a minimum of 10 to a maximum of 20 charging points

For Ceiling Limit

• One charging point per Consumer Account would be given a subsidy under this scheme
• To promote deployment and distribution of EV chargers across Delhi, subsidy in semi-public units (such as Kirana stores, CGHS, hospitals, malls etc.) shall be restricted to a maximum of 20 EV charging points
• If a consumer plans to install more chargers than the given limit, the consumer will have to pay the full price for the same
