GREENVILLE, S.C. - June 13, 2022 - PRLog -- WHAT: Campaign supporters and community members will gather to watch the Primary Election Day results in support of Derrick Quarles, candidate for South Carolina House of Representatives District 25. During the event Quarles will highlight his campaign platform and plans to improve District 25 and Greenville. Guests will also enjoy light refreshments and entertainment. The event is hosted by the Friends of Derrick for SC Team.

WHY: Quarles announced his intentions to run for office in June 2021 during the annual Juneteenth celebration held at the Peace Center. The Greenville native and resident of the district is eager to empower the people and bring resources to the area. He plans to utilize his community connections, organizing and advocacy skills to pass legislation that impacts residents of the district.

Derrick Quarles is currently a candidate for SC House of Representatives District 25. As an activist and community organizer, Quarles was employed by the South Carolina Senate and provided consulting services to the South Carolina Legislative Black Caucus. He served on various political and social justice campaigns and was instrumental in protesting a voter suppression bill to aid South Carolina nonprofit organizations. As an educator, he has impacted the lives of many students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and numerous committee organizations.
