Follow on Google News | YMCA Receives Sponsorships for 15 area Kids to Learn to Swim in EdgewaterBy: Volusia Flagler Family YMCA "The YMCA never turns anyone away for the inability to pay for our programs," said Katie Lyle, Chief Operating Officer, Volusia Flagler Family YMCA. "Organizations like The Great Opportunity Scholarship make that possible" she added. The Great Opportunity Scholarship is a non-profit entity which provides funds to support worthy community education efforts. "Water safety education is one of The Great Opportunity Scholarship's goals so we are delighted to provide funds for these 15 children to benefit from the Y's swim program," said Kaye Walker - VP of Great Opportunity Scholarship and SEV Family YMCA board member. Volunteers at GOS are currently assisting in reading and writing programs at the Babe James Community Center and are stocking a free Lending Library on their property. They also place and stock free Lending Libraries at Chisolm's Head Start Program and the New Smyrna Boys and Girls Club. The Southeast Volusia Flagler Family YMCA is located at 148 W Turgot Ave, Edgewater, FL. They are open 24/7.
