The Oak School Announces Opening in Lakewood This August - Families Can Now Enroll for Fall 2022

The Nature-based School Takes Holistic Approach to Early Childhood Education; Celebrates Inaugural School Year All Summer Long Through Upcoming Events & Programs

LAKEWOOD, Colo. - June 3, 2022 - PRLog -- The Oak School is not like other schools…and that's exactly what founder Tricia Martin-Owen intended.

Rooted in a nature-based, holistic approach to education, The Oak School is conveniently located in the Applewood Neighborhood near Golden, just 15 minutes from both downtown Denver and the mountains, at 11500 W. 20th Ave. Now open for Fall 2022 enrollment, The Oak School teaches preschool and grade school levels, utilizing exploratory learning to guide its bright-eyed students.

Classes spend their days learning both inside and outside. The school's five acre lot is filled with gardens, engaging play areas, and plenty of open spaces to explore while cozy classrooms are designed to look and feel just like home. The Oak School's inquiry-, exploratory-, and play-based approach to learning helps children build both confidence and their understanding of the world around them from an intellectual, social, and emotional lens.

"The truth is that we as a society are always in a rush – we're hurrying up to catch a meeting, sneaking in a doctor's appointment, running from one activity to the next – it's the default speed of the culture we live in. Yet we simply cannot rush childhood development," explained Tricia Martin-Owen, founder and Head of School at The Oak School. "We push our children because we want them to be intelligent, skillful, coordinated, creative – we want them to thrive. Here at The Oak School, we give children the time and permission to first learn about themselves – to grow their own strong roots in order to thrive!  – so they can go into the world, confident and solid in themselves, to do amazing things."

Designed to provide a strong sense of community and connection, The Oak School is focused on hiring talented, kind educators. Small class sizes allow teachers to cater to each child's needs - Every educator has a master's degree and is qualified to teach children with other learning needs, like dyslexia and ADHD.

Additional programs and classes will continue to be added to meet the needs of the school's children and families. For school updates, follow The Oak School's Facebook page which shares news on upcoming events, programs, teacher spotlights and more.
