Pollock Named Chair of PA Supreme Court Domestic Relations Procedural Rules CommitteeBy: Pollock Begg Comprised of nine judges and attorneys experienced in family law practice in Pennsylvania, the committee advises the Supreme Court on matters related to the procedural rules governing divorce, support, custody, paternity and protection from abuse. The committee promotes uniformity of practice across Pennsylvania and reviews legislation and court decisions to ensure rules align with developments in the law and the practicalities of family law practice. Committee members also speak at conferences and seminars to educate lawyers, court personnel and others about recent and proposed changes in procedural rules related to matrimonial law. "It's an honor to have the opportunity to lead this group of professionals dedicated to continuous process improvement and enhancement of the practice of family law in our state," said Pollock. Pollock served as vice chair of the committee since September 2021 and has been a member of the committee since 2018. He previously served six years on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Disciplinary Board hearing board, including five as its chair. His many leadership roles in various legal and community organizations are a trademark of his career. Pollock currently served on the Board of Governors and the Finance Committee of the International Academy of Family Lawyers, North America, and as treasurer of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Pennsylvania chapter. He was editor-in-chief of Pennsylvania Family Lawyer for 23 years and chaired the family law sections of the Pennsylvania and Allegheny County bar associations' Lawyers Assistance Committees. He additionally served as treasurer of the JCC Pittsburgh. "David's dedication to advancing the practice of family law is a source of pride for the Pollock Begg team.
