Edward Elgar wrote Salut d'Amour in 1888 as an engagement gift for his beloved future wife, Caroline Alice Roberts, who became his inspiration and greatest champion. It was Elgar's first published work, and his dedication on the piece reads "à Carice", a fusion of his fiancée's forenames Caroline and Alice. Though written originally for piano solo, arrangements were soon created by the composer himself for violin and piano, and for orchestra. Elgar's original title for the work was "Liebesgruss" For more information about this new Salut d'Amour edition for alto flute and piano, and to preview a page of the score, visit the listing page at https://noteworthysheetmusic.com/ End
