Center Valley Offers the Lehigh Valley Full-Arch Dental Implants

Full-arch dental implants from the team at Center Valley Dental add stability to dentures.

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - May 25, 2022 - PRLog -- One of the worst parts about having dentures is their lack of stability. Dentures can fall out of place easily, which is why patients should consider full-arch dental implants. Center Valley Dental offers both fixed and removable full-arch dental Implants. These restorations allow patients to replace their dentures with a more stable, longer-lasting solution.

Fixed (or non-removable) implants require the placement of six to eight implants. If more implants are placed, there will be more support for restoration and less stress on the implant, increasing the long-term life of the implant.

There are two types of full-arch removable implants: an upper arch and a lower arch. For an upper arch implant, either four implants are placed with a ball over-denture, or six implants are placed with a bar over-denture. The four implants allow for some movement with the denture, but the six implants allow for no movement.

A full, lower arch denture is attached to implants meant to be removed by the patient daily. The number of implants for this procedure ranges from two to three to five. If patients choose to receive two or three implants, they will be placed with a ball over-denture. There will be increased retention with this denture and some movement. If patients choose to have five implants, the denture will be placed with a bar. There will be bone preservation in the entire arch, and their will be no movement of the denture.

"With so many options, we realize a patient can feel overwhelmed," says Dr. Matthew Lang, dentist in Center Valley. "That is why we schedule a consultation with them to take x-rays, walk them through the various treatments, and help them find a solution appropriate for their needs."
