Romance Author Releases Title in Anticipated Romantic Suspense Series

The hero, Lieutenant Beau "Buck" Gaines, has hired shadowy firm Black Watch Security to help him investigate, but time is of the essence as both a Congressional committee and a Navy board of inquiry regarding the matter are coming to a head. In the midst of this, he meets political science professor Peyton Page in the suburbs of D.C., and though the timing is not ideal to begin a relationship, they assume their connection will remain casual since they reside on opposite coasts. Because of this, mistaken identity ensues on both sides.

Peyton has not connected Buck to the inquiries that have been in the news, and she has not told him that she was also involved in the tainted mission – and in her own way has been suffering a cascade of personal and professional fallout. When her troubles convince her to follow Buck back to California, the true nature of their relationship becomes harder to hide.

They are being stalked by the same individuals, and when those people finally act, Peyton and Buck's actual identities are revealed. Peyton already knows that her actions surrounding the fated mission will be unforgivable to Buck and the rest of the team, so she leaves – and unwittingly exposes herself to their lurking common enemy.

Despite his anger and feelings of betrayal, Buck cannot let the woman he loves face the danger alone, so the team bands together to keep her safe – and paves the way for a better understanding of Peyton's original motivations, and what really happened overseas all those months ago.

Their happily-ever-after is heartfelt and romantic and foreshadows more intrigue surrounding the mission in future books.
