Georgia-Based Nonprofit Expands its Fundraising Efforts to Grow Awareness and Further Benefit Children in the Foster Care System

BUFORD, Ga. - May 24, 2022 - PRLog -- What do footie pajamas and a pair of plaid golf pants have in common?... Georgia-based 501(c)3 charity, Jambos. Under sunny skies on May 13, 108 golfers took to the links at Chateau Elan Winery & Resort for the inaugural Putting Fore Pajamas Golf Tournament. At the end of 18 holes, the nonprofit had raised $10,000. The mission at the heart of Jambos is simple yet impactful - to bring comfort to thousands of children in the foster care system during what can often be an uncomfortable journey through the gift of brand-new pajamas.

"From our amazing sponsors to our incredible volunteers to our wonderful golfers, thank you from the bottom of our hearts," said Jambos Founder and CEO, Rebekah Black. "It was never lost on me or my team members that everyone who took part in our first Putting Fore Pajamas Tournament was giving up something to be there that day. It's because of that collective sacrifice that we were able to raise more funds than we have ever been able to rally before in one initiative. 2022 is a year of extraordinary growth for Jambos and Putting Fore Pajamas is just the beginning. We recently debuted a beautiful new website, we're striving to expand our efforts from 31 states to all 50 states in the U.S. and plans are underway for a benefit gala to be hosted later this year. Seeing all those smiling faces on the golf course made it crystal clear that we are not alone in our desire to show some much-needed love to children in foster care, and that love and support will continue to grow right along with our organization."

It was no coincidence that Jambos' Putting Fore Pajamas Golf Tournament was scheduled during the month of May – which just so happens to be National Foster Care Month. In addition to the tournament, Jambos has been promoting the need to collect 1,000 pairs of pajamas for the often-overlooked adolescents in foster care. Of the 11,921 children in the foster care system in Georgia alone, 3,822 – or an estimated 32% - are between the ages of 13 and 18+ years. To meet their goal before the end of the month, the nonprofit is seeking adult pajamas in sizes XS-XXL. Brand-new pajamas can be dropped off at the Jambos warehouse – located at 554 W Main Street, Suite 700 in Buford – or monetary contributions can be made through the Jambos website at www.jambosdonates.com or via mobile device by texting "JAMBOS" to 44321.
