Exalt His Name, Jesus by Westwick Abijah Williams
A New Challenge To The Modern Christian: The Modern Christian Series #4
By: Strategic Book Publishing & Rights Co.
The new book Exalt His Name, Jesus presents a challenge to devoted Christians: They must rise above the limitations of mankind's fallen humanity, grasp the unlimited potentials embodied in the name "Christ-ian,"
Author Westwick Abijah Williams believes Christians must follow Christ's example in daily living by internalizing His teachings and getting closer to Him through prayer.
The name Jesus identified the Son of God as a man. Two thousand years ago, Jesus was a common Jewish name meaning savior or deliverer. It was Jesus' baptism at age 30 that marked His anointing and attaining the title of "Christ," now "the anointed one," "the one sent from God." The name Christ distinguished Him from all others named Jesus, and identified Him as the Son of God.
Jesus chose to be the "son of man" so He might redeem mankind, restoring men to the status of His creation, "sons of God." In John 17:17, Jesus prayed for Christians to fulfil their destiny through truth, and to act in Christ's likeness.
"This book Exalt His Name teaches us how to face trials or triumph, weal or woe, success or failure, humiliation, or exaltation, and to differentiate fleeting happiness from lasting joy. And as a lifelong educator, Dr. Williams has succeeded in presenting a platform on which we can build a life for the joys of service in the here and now, and for the higher joys of wider service in the hereafter." – Dr. Fitzroy Maitland, former dean, Theology, Religion, Behavioral Sciences, Caribbean Union College (now University of the Southern Caribbean)
About the Author: Westwick Abijah Williams lives on the Caribbean island of St. Vincent. A retired educator, he holds a Ph.D. in educational administration.
