Follow on Google News | New Release Flight of the Fallen Propels Fantasy Book Series Rebirth of the Fallen to New PlacesBy: JR Konkol Konkol's debut novel, "Citadel of the Fallen," earned the 1st Place Pencraft Award for Literary Excellence in Fantasy Fiction and quickly earned a following among fans of young adult fantasy fiction. That success was followed by the second installment, "Gathering of the Fallen." Now the third book in the series, "Flight of the Fallen," picks up a few weeks after the dramatic events of Gathering of the Fallen. Like a lot of kids of a certain age, author J.R. Konkol was an avid Dungeons & Dragons player. However, Konkol was inspired to do more than just role play and went on to publish his first Role-Playing Game (RPG), Of Gods and Men, in the early 1990s. He has been running games within that setting ever since and returned to writing with the hope of sharing those stories with a wider audience. The novels of the series grew out of the Of Gods and Men RPG. In the newest novel, "Flight of the Fallen," faced with the approach of an unstoppable army, the people of the Citadel are forced to flee. While most of the population attempts to escape along the southern waterways, the group of newly possessed friends choose a more dangerous path. Guided by visions, the friends travel a network of expansive caves while Raelyn, the willful demon who brought about the fall of the Citadel, struggles to make a home for herself. Raelyn knows the plague is demonic in origin, but with a price on her head and many powerful demons interested in collecting, will she survive long enough to share her knowledge?
