Robust European Market for Windows and Doors

Ceresana has analyzed the European market for windows and doors that are used in buildings.

KONSTANZ, Germany - May 4, 2022 - PRLog -- The prices for construction materials are rising rapidly. The COVID-19 pandemic isn't over yet, and the conflict in Ukraine is presenting the otherwise stable construction industry with another challenge. The current industrial analysis also predicts some light on the horizon: While the demand for windows and doors in Europe is forecast to decrease slightly by 1% in 2022, our researchers predict a significant recovery from 2024 onwards. The European Union's so-called "green deal" in particular gives cause for hope.

More Energy Efficiency for Europe

By 2050, Europe is to become the first "climate-neutral continent".  The construction sector plays a major role in this matter, because buildings currently account for around 40 % of total European energy consumption. The energy is mainly needed for heating, hot water, and air conditioning. If the EU Commission has its way, around 35 million private and public buildings are to be renovated by 2030. To achieve this, the European Union plans to provide more than EUR 72 billion in the coming years. Not only the manufacturers of insulating materials, but also the providers of construction elements profit from the state incentives to improve energy efficiency:  windows and doors can contribute greatly to energy saving, e.g., by integrating special insulating cores directly into the window profile.

Current Market Data About Windows and Doors

The new study by Ceresana offers in chapter 1 figures regarding the demand for windows and doors in Europe as well as revenues generated with them. With regard to demand, a distinction is made between the materials and the two areas of application, new construction and renovation.
Chapter 2 provides information on demand, production, revenues, imports and exports for 23 countries, each separately for windows and doors. Additionally, demand for windows and doors in the new construction and renovation sectors is analyzed for the eight largest national markets (Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, Poland, Spain, Turkey, and Russia). Furthermore, the windows and doors markets are broken down in detail for the different base materials: wood, plastic, metal and material composites like wood-aluminum.
Chapter 3 offers useful company profiles of the most important door and window manufacturers, neatly structured according to contact data, revenues, profit, product palette, production sites, a brief profile as well as product types and application areas. Detailed profiles are given for 62 of the most important window and door manufacturers.
