BRISTOL, U.K. - May 3, 2022 - PRLog -- The Income Protection Task Force has announced that National Friendly, the Bristol-based health and protection insurer will be joining the organisation as of 1st May.  The move follows National Friendly's successful launch of a low-cost accident only income protection (AOIP) and Income Protection (IP) policies.

Newly appointed Business Development Manager Karen Stoddart, who joined National Friendly to help develop business via networks & portals, said "I am excited to be joining National Friendly and pleased that we will be working closely with the IPTF, and be part of the invaluable work they do to increase awareness and value of IP."

IPTF Co-Chair Jo Miller said "Having added three new members at the start of the year we're thrilled to have further expanded the IPTF membership to include National Friendly and we're looking forward to including them in the plans for Income Protection Awareness Week which are coming together."

Oliver Jones, Head of Sales & Marketing comments "Post pandemic, many people are now very sensitive to the impact that not working can have on their domestic finances. Whilst previously many might have taken a relaxed approach to IP insurance and perhaps not seen it as an essential part of their financial toolkit, the experience of two years of on-off lockdowns and business closure has had a dramatic impact upon the way many people now look at money, and in particular, the importance they now attach to a regular, secure income."

National Friendly Product Developments
National Friendly decided to launch their AOIP policy to open up IP to a market previously excluded as a result of health issues. For those who want cover in the event of an accident either at work or outside, the policy has no medical underwriting and so it is open to all.

National Friendly has also recently launched a traditional IP policy with a view to adopting an underwriting philosophy which is very pragmatic and addresses illness such as diabetes in a fair and proportionate manner.

Other services available include mental health counselling, online triage, symptom assessment, and a general health risk screening service. This can give clients a detailed analysis of their health and wellbeing status, linked to specific advice and recommendations, in advance of health issues arising.
