MELBOURNE, Australia - April 29, 2022 - PRLog -- Leading early childhood education and care (ECEC) highest body, the Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) has called for all political applicants to recognise the need for high-quality, well-resourced, reasonable early learning services Australia-wide as the 2022 Election approaches.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has dragged the curtain back on the crucial role the early education sector plays in supporting the retrieval and growth of our economy while allowing all working parents – emergency and healthcare workers among them – to continue in the workforce," said Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) President Paul Mondo.

"experimentally, the benefits to our children are also clear – children who relish quality early learning are likely to be well socialised, self-confident, prying about the world, compliant of diversity, hardy to manage tasks and also to be life-long learners."

Numerous challenges face ECEC sector and require action

The early education sector has touched a point of crisis when it comes to workforce, the ACA said, noting that Early childhood education course providers are struggling to find enough educators to meet the supervisory requirements for the child-educator relations that current demand levels require.

"Resolving our national workforce crisis must be a financial priority – without educators, long day day-care services must reduce their places, forcing mostly mothers out of the workplace," Mr Mondo said.

"We need to ensure that all families – including those with only one child in early learning and those with exceptional needs – have ongoing, impartial and affordable access to world class Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care (https://skilledup.edu.au/certificate-iii-early-childhood-...)."

"The long day care sector is pivotal to the recovery and growth of our economy. We enable all working parents – emergency and healthcare workers amongst them – to continue in the workforce.

Three key areas of focus prioritized by the ACA

The Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) distinguished that they would like to see the next Australian Government order the following three endorsements:
  • Increase ECEC affordability for all families
  • End the educator shortage crisis
  • Improve support for children with disability

With the right policy and financial outlines in place Australia can have every child access high quality, reasonable and supportable early learning services.
