Snell & Wilmer Partner Amy Sorenson Awarded Distinguished Service Award by The FBA

The Utah Chapter of the Federal Bar Association is a group of approximately 350 members comprised of federal judges, attorneys in private practice and government service, and students at both the S. J. Quinney College of Law
and the J. Reuben Clark Law School. The Utah Chapter is among the largest and most active of the 90 chapters in the National Federal Bar Association.
The Distinguished Service Award is presented as a lifetime contribution award to an FBA member who has displayed long-term outstanding achievement, distinguished leadership, and participation in the activities of the Utah Chapter over a career of service.
Sorenson is a partner in Snell & Wilmer's Salt Lake City office where she is a regional civil litigator with more than 20 years of experience defending businesses in Utah, Nevada and California at trial, in arbitration and on appeal. She focuses her practice in financial services litigation as well as complex commercial litigation spanning a variety of industries and practice areas. Sorenson is a member of the firm's Executive Committee and serves as co-chair of the firm's Financial Services Litigation practice group. Additionally, Sorenson co-founded and previously co-chaired the Snell & Wilmer Women's Initiative in order to further the firm's commitment to supporting, retaining and promoting women attorneys.
Sorenson received her B.A. from Yale University, and her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law and is licensed to practice in Utah, Nevada and California. Sorenson is currently a co-chair of the Utah Access to Justice Commission, and was previously past President of the Legal Aid Society of Salt Lake.
