BRAMPTON, Ontario - April 28, 2022 - PRLog -- Ahead of National Volunteer Week, Volunteer MBC hosted its first ever flag-raising ceremony at Mississauga Celebration Square on Sunday, and the City of Mississauga honoured the occasion by lighting the clock tower green. Three days prior, the 2022 Virtual V-Oscars, Peel Region's ultimate volunteer recognition event presented by Maritime-Ontario, was live-streamed featuring 74 volunteer award nominees and 90 COVID-19 Star medalists.

Themed 'Empathy in Action' this year, National Volunteer Week brings Canada together in celebrating volunteerism in all its life-altering forms. While volunteers of all ages and walks of life shone at the V-Oscars, the most notable stage presence was the overwhelming number of youth, from volunteer award nominees and recipients, COVID-19 Stars, to performers, co-hosts and enthused event attendees.
