Follow on Google News | To Regularise 845 Illegal Colonies by Harayan GovernmentBy: Investo Xpert Gupta made the statement during the budget session of the Haryana legislative assembly. He said the town and country planning agency had asked resident welfare associations and developers to submit online applications for regularising colonies. The Department of Urban Local Bodies intends to regularise 845 unauthorised colonies in Haryana that are within the authority of civic bodies. During a recent question hour in the Haryana legislative assembly, Kamal Gupta, Haryana's Minister of Urban Local Bodies, stated that the Town and Country Planning (TCP) department is accepting applications from resident welfare associations (RWAs) and developers for unapproved colonies. In September of last year, a notification was issued to amend the Haryana Management of Municipal Areas (Special Provision) Act 2016 to speed up the regularisation process. The condition of construction activity on 50% of the plot in new colonies formed before March 31, 2015 was lifted with this change. Around 1,300 petitions for the regularisation of unlawful colonies have already been received since the recent notification. Based on the ratio of built-up area on the entire plot, Haryana's colonies were categorised into four groups. According to Kamal Gupta, the categories are less than 25% built-up area, 25 percent to 50% built-up area, 50 percent to 75 percent built-up area, and more than 75 percent built-up area.
