SAN DIEGO - April 25, 2022 - PRLog -- RadioMobile, Inc., a provider of mobile data communications technology for Fire and EMS, announced that the Tuolumne County Fire Department (TCFD) has chosen to deploy RadioMobile's mobile data communications system for automatic vehicle location (AVL), mapping and tracking.  The new system utilizes satellite terminals installed on each vehicle to ensure connectivity with dispatch and the command center, even in the most remote areas where wireless LTE coverage is unavailable.

"Maintaining connectivity and visibility of our units is paramount to delivering on our mission to save lives and property while keeping our firefighters safe," said Bill Allison, Captain at TCFD. "RadioMobile's integrated system of software, hardware and networking keeps everyone involved in the incident on the same page with access to the same data, everyone's location and instant messaging."

Tuolumne County Fire Department, through a cooperative fire protection agreement with California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), provides for the preservation of life and property through emergency medical response, rescue, extrication, fire control, fire and life safety inspections to over 2,200 square miles and approximately 55,000 residents of Tuolumne County. The county includes federal lands such as Yosemite National Park, Stanislaus National Forest, Bureau of Land Management lands, and Indian reservations.  Wireless coverage in unavailable in close to one-third of the county.

The TCFD solution utilizes satellite terminals and routers installed in each vehicle to determine the most effective method of communication, cellular or satellite, based on the vehicle's current location. IQ Flex, a hosted service hosted and maintained by RadioMobile, provides an IP interface to the CAD and relays dispatch messages and status updates between the CAD and the responding units.  In addition, each mobile unit is equipped with RadioMobile's Patriot All-in-One Mobile Data Computer running RadioMobile's IQ Mobile Software, giving them the ability to see their location and the location of neighboring vehicles, as well as two-way communication with those vehicles, the ECC and incident command.

"We are happy to have Tuolumne County Fire Department join our family of fire & EMS clients," says Jim Moore, CEO at RadioMobile.  "By utilizing RadioMobile, they are able to leverage the AVL system we built for CAL FIRE with the addition of two-way satellite communication for faster response and even greater collaboration with other CAL FIRE agencies."

RadioMobile creates technology that helps Fire and EMS agencies save lives and property by operating more safely and effectively. RadioMobile's integrated, end-to-end solutions provide real-time incident dispatching, mapping and navigation, vehicle locations and status updates, mobile messaging, and fire station alerting; seamlessly integrated with new and legacy systems.
