Quiche Your Mother Fundraiser Returns Following Successful First Year

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - April 19, 2022 - PRLog -- Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches Quiche Your Mother campaign is back, once again making it easy to give your mom or any mom the gift of a hassle-free Mother's Day.
This year, Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches will be offering delicious Quiche Lorraine (with ham) and flavorful apple pies for Mother's Day, making it easy for everyone to enjoy the special day while helping to provide nutritious meals – and wellness checks to homebound seniors.
Pies and quiches, made by supportive pie masters and quiche bakers, are available for a $30 donation. Proceeds from each quiche or pie sold will fund a week's worth of fresh, nutritious noontime meals for a homebound senior in our Palm Beach County.
"Quiche Your Mother, Pie It Forward Mother's Day Edition was very successful last year, selling out and raising more than $30,000," said Meals on Wheels President and CEO Pamela Calzadilla. "Moms really enjoyed being able to take it easy and liked a relaxing Sunday brunch with delicious quiche and a tasty pie."
Quiches and pies will be available for pick-up on Friday, May 6 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches kitchen in West Palm Beach. Online ordering begins on April 18 and runs through May 2 at mowpbpie.org
"We're excited to bring Quiche Your Mother back for a second year at the request of many of last year's donors," said Special Events Director Maura Nelson. "We are also grateful for the support of volunteer bakers and our generous sponsors.
Quiche Makers and Pie Masters include Bear Lakes Country Club, Beacon, Delray Dunes Golf & Country Club, Lost Tree Club, Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches, The Paddock Restaurant, The Seagate Clubs, Serenity Tea House and Wycliffe Country Club.
Don't need a quiche or pie for Mother's Day but still want to help Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches provide a week of hot, nutritious meals for a local homebound senior? You can help with the purchase of a virtual quiche, made with a $30 tax-deductible online donation.
Tribute quiches, recognizing a special mom with a message posted in her memory on the Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches website, will also be available for $30.  In both cases, no actual pie will be received.
The Quiche Your Mother fundraiser is the perfect companion to Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches' signature Fall fund-raising campaign, Pie It Forward, which makes Thanksgiving pies available to the community each year. Last year, Pie It Forward again sold out with more than 3,300 actual and virtual pies being purchased.
