Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra, Kia, Toyota - Car Sales in March 2022

 
CHANDIGARH, India - April 8, 2022 - PRLog -- Automobile sales have risen YoY and MoM, despite the shortage of semiconductors continuing to affect the industry. March 2022 auto sales ended on a positive note as most automakers reported improved sales on a year-on-year and month-on-month basis.

The number of new cars sold in March 2021 increased by 0.31 percent over March 2021, when 3,20,547 units were sold. The number of units sold in February 2022 was 3,02,857, an increase of 6.17 percent from the previous month.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited was leading the pack. A year ago, 1,46,203 cars were sold. In March 2022, sales dropped 8.44 percent to 1,33,861 units. They sold 1,33,948 units in February 2022. Its market share dropped to 41.80 percent from 44.38 percent.

In March 2022, Hyundai Motors sold 44,600 units, down 15.21 percent from 52,600 units sold in March 2021. In MoM sales, the company ended the month with a 1.25 percent increase over 44,050 units shipped in February 2022. Several upcoming launches will lead to an increase in demand, especially for the company.

Tata Motors ranked third on the list, reporting a 42.62 percent YoY increase in wholesales in March 2022, compared to 29,654 in March 2021. In February 2022, there were 39,981 vehicles sold. MoM growth was 5.78 percent.

Tata Motors received a satisfactory response to its Nexon, Altroz, Punch, and Tiago models. Nexon EV and Tigor EV are their most accepted electric vehicles. The company increased its sales in MoM and YOY by 24.84 percent and 95.89 percent, respectively.

In March 2022, Mahindra, Kia, and Toyota Mahindra sales grew 65.29 percent year over year. MoM sales in March 2021 were 16,700 units, a slight decrease of 0.22 percent over the 27,663 units sold in February 2022. The demand for passenger vehicles from Kia & Toyota increased. MoM and YoY sales increased by 24.84 percent and 95.89 percent, respectively.

Renault has launched the MY22 Renault Kiger starting at Rs 5.84 lakhs. Bookings have opened, potentially boosting sales in the months to come. Skoda Slavia increased the company's sales by 383.87 percent last month. The number of vehicles Skoda Auto India sold last month rose from 1,159 in March 2021 to 5,608 in April 2021.

The number of units sold in February 2022 was 4,503, representing an increase of 24.54 percent over the same month last year. The retail sales of MG Motor fell 14.60 percent from 5,528 units sold in March 2021 to 4,721 units in March 2022.

The MoM sales increased 4.26 percent from 4,528 units sold the previous month. There were 3,672 units of Volkswagen, 3,007 units of Nissan, 1,273 units of Jeep, and 52 units of Citroen on the list.
