UK Airport Chaos Boosts Easter Staycation Bookings

BASINGSTOKE, U.K. - April 7, 2022 - PRLog -- The widely reported problems at UK airports, with airline and security teams unable to cope with the sudden surge in passenger numbers, has resulted in a welcome boost in Easter bookings for UK holiday companies.

Comments Raoul Fraser, Managing Director of Lovat Holiday Parks, which owns ten parks across southern England: "People are unsurprisingly desperate to get away now that most Covid restrictions have been lifted.

"However, the loss of staff from airlines and airports over the last two years due to Covid, have left them ill-prepared to cope with the sudden increase in numbers as people scramble to get away for Easter.  But Covid is still here, as can be seen from the number of flight cancellations due to staff shortages, thus sadly leaving the holiday dreams of thousands of families in ruins.

"Since the airport story first broke at the weekend, we have seen a significant increase in enquiries for Easter stays at our parks.  Of course, the weather in the UK is never guaranteed (that said the Cornwall seas are as good as the Med on a nice day), but the Covid years have led people to re-prioritise, and just getting away and having family fun is top of the list."

Lovat Holiday Parks have a number of spring deals that airport-dodging families can take advantage of including the following:

Green Hill Farm Holiday Village in the New Forest National Park has plenty of activities to keep the kids occupied, including archery, den building and Segway riding.  What's more, Boris Johnson's favourite attraction, Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park, is just 10 minutes' drive away!

The dog-friendly park is in the north of the forest, with direct access for great walks, to enjoy the scenery and famous ponies.  A four-night stay arriving on Monday 18 April, costs from £631 – a saving of 30% off the usual price – with accommodation in a Forest Retreat holiday home sleeping up to six people.  For bookings or further information call 0333 200 1010 or visit www.lovatparks.com.

Sun Haven Holiday Park is located at Mawgan Porth in north Cornwall, between Padstow and Newquay.  The dog-friendly park is just a 15-minute walk through a pretty treelined path to the village, with its pubs, shops, restaurants, and (dog friendly) beach.

A four-night stay, arriving on Monday 18 April costs from just £282 – a saving of 50% off the usual price – with accommodation in a two-bedroomed holiday home sleeping six people.  For further information or bookings call 0333 200 2780 or visit www.lovatholidayparks.com.
