Dr. Eric Schaible Retires From Community Eye Center

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - April 6, 2022 - PRLog -- Community Eye Center announces the retirement of Dr. Eric Schaible, MD, FACS. Dr. Schaible served as the Eye Research Director and provided ophthalmic care for the past 28 years, specializing in complex cataract surgery, trauma, premium lens implants and treatment of astigmatism.

Besides publishing numerous papers on neurosurgery and ophthalmology, Dr. Schaible conducted research on laser cataract surgery and was a member in eight affiliations including the American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Eric Liss will be handling patient appointments. Dr. Liss, born and raised in Sarasota, is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist who will provide comprehensive ophthalmic care. He has a special interest in advanced cataract surgery, macular degeneration and inflammatory disorders of the eye. Dr. Liss has also published research on retinal disease, refractive surgery, glaucoma and disorders of the immune system, and presented his findings at national ophthalmology conferences.

When asked to reflect on his career, Dr. Schaible said, "I have enjoyed taking care of my patients and helping them see better. It gives me a sense of accomplishment when they are pleased after surgery. I will miss that the most."

While he has no immediate plans, Dr. Schaible said he will enjoy "time without demands."
