PRLog -- Ramadan is the Islamic month categorized by its holiness and the month-long fasting from sunrise to sunset. Ramadan fasting is also one of the five pillars of Islam. As per Ramadan guidelines, Muslims devote their time to offering prayer, performing good deeds, reciting the Holy Quran, and offering charity to the community during the month. Ramadan is sacred as the holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad on one of the odd nights in the last 10 days of the month. It is the reason for the origination of Islam as a religion.
Importance of performing I'tikaf and charityAs Ramadan is the month to self-reflect on one's deeds and the verses of the Quran, one can stay away from worldly possession to make the whole experience more spiritual. Itikaf is the act of deliberately cutting off from the materialistic world in order to focus on the true path shown by Allah. One can perform i'tikaf on some of the last days of Ramadan. Another must-do act in Ramadan guidelines is to provide for the poor and needy. People can offer money, food, or even pass on a smile to perform charity in the community.
What should not be done as per Ramadan Guidelines - One should not indulge in any quarrel during the month of Ramadan.
- An individual should not smoke, eat food, drink water, or engage in sexual activity during the fasting hours.
