They feel like they're at a loss and cannot manage work and life while addressing inevitable issues as they arise. These pain points, as well as others, led to the creation of a new campaign focused on families and children. Cabell County Family Resource Network is launching its "12 Affirmations for a Happy Family" to complement Child Abuse Prevention Month activities across the nation. The 12 affirmations provide tangible, relatable messaging and resources for families in Cabell County and beyond. The "12 Affirmations for a Happy Family" are:
"It's important for us to talk with parents and caregivers to assess what they need," said Jeffrey Evans, Cabell County FRN's executive director. "Raising a child is not easy, and we want to provide support for families and children so they can thrive and be the best possible versions of themselves. These affirmations not only support our local families but are guideposts for the work we do at Cabell FRN. With each conversation, campaign, event, or other happening, we aim to live by these affirmations as well. Localized information is so important so parents and caregivers don't get lost in the minutiae of Internet searches and can actually know what is happening in our own area. While we realize that these 12 affirmations are not the only aspects of a happy family, we know they are foundational building blocks for your child to have a happy childhood." Resources for each affirmation will provide the beginning stages of support for families and children to coincide with Cabell County FRN's new focus areas. The organization aims to provide support and training in three realms:
"With these areas of focus in mind, Cabell FRN envisions a connection of existing resources and providers in a concerted effort to nurture success for our families and children," Evans said. "Cabell FRN's main priority is to solicit gaps of service in these areas and to foster the development of resources and services to help families develop safe, healthy practices as they navigate raising their children." Cabell County Family Resource Network was founded in 1993. Its mission is to bring families, individuals and organizations together to promote the well-being of children and families in Cabell County. Learn more about Cabell County FRN at www.cabellfrn.org.
