Conservancy of Southwest Florida hosts Earth Day Festival April 23

FORT MYERS, Fla. - March 28, 2022 - PRLog -- The Conservancy of Southwest Florida hosts a free Earth Day Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 23. The event will include live animal encounters, Kid Zone activities, electric boat tours, food trucks, BioBlitz Nature Walks, the new Learning Adventures Bus, local exhibitors and more.

"The Conservancy is happy to welcome visitors back, particularly with the reopening of our Nature Center with the $5 million renovation and expansion of the Susan and William Dalton Discovery Center with the John & Carol Walter Discovery wing," said Rob Moher, president and CEO of the Conservancy of Southwest Florida. "This event is an opportunity for the community to enjoy hands-on activities while learning more about the issues facing our natural environment and the importance of the work of the Conservancy to our quality of life in Southwest Florida."

Scheduled programs include:
  • 10:30 a.m.: Little Explorers, for 18-months to 5-years-old
  • 11 a.m. Super Science Show with Glen Beitman
  • 11:30 a.m.: Invasive Species Talk
  • Noon: Little Explorers and Ocean Plastics, featuring Artist Pamela Logobardi
  • 12:30 p.m.: Animal Injuries Talk
  • 1 p.m.: Sea Turtle Program, featuring the Conservancy Science Team
  • 1:30 p.m.: "Science on a Sphere," Climate Change Talk
