Real Love and War in Kyiv, Ukraine

As the world is watching the illegal war which Russia and Putin have unleashed on the people of Ukraine, this couple were witnessed at the Kyiv landmark, Independence Square. A clear representation of the love they have for each other but also a demonstration of the love Ukrainians have for each other and their country.

The bloodshed is a clear and disgusting show of force by Putin and his regime that international laws, agreements and treaties mean nothing to them. The resistance being shown by the Ukraine people is clear and definitive of a nation willing to protect it's sovereignty and future at all costs. Ukraine forces have and will continue to fight for peace. Not only for themselves and each other but for future generations.

As we hear the air raid sirens echo throughout the city during day and night, we understand that the next strike could be where we stand or sleep. This is not a deterrence but a motivation for me to continue reporting the truth from here in Kyiv and around the country. As a journalist the truth must be told. As an actor and humanitarian, if I can save the life of at least one person, feed one hungry family and bring hope to soldiers fighting to protect Ukraine, it is a success and a risk I am willing to take.

I have assisted with refugees along the border and helped many inside the city of Kyiv.
