VANCOUVER, British Columbia - March 24, 2022 - PRLog -- According to Electric Mobility Canada, there were approximately 168,000 electric vehicles in 2020. The most considerable growth in the industry was in 2018 when in only one year, the number of EVs in Canada almost doubled to reach 93,091, a 90% increase over the previous year. Statistics Canada says 65,253 new battery-only and plug-in hybrid electric cars were registered in the first nine months of 2021, more than the number registered across 12 months in any previous year. Data for the final three months of 2021 is not yet available, but for the first nine months, EVs represented five percent of new cars registered, up from three percent in both 2020 and 2019. It becomes evident that more new electric vehicles hit the road in Canada last year than ever before.
