In-Charge Mapping Design Corp. Overviews Growth Trend of Canadian EV Market

The global electric vehicle charging infrastructure market was valued at USD 15.06 billion in 2020 and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 33.4% from 2021 to 2028.
VANCOUVER, British Columbia - March 24, 2022 - PRLog -- According to Electric Mobility Canada, there were approximately 168,000 electric vehicles in 2020. The most considerable growth in the industry was in 2018 when in only one year, the number of EVs in Canada almost doubled to reach 93,091, a 90% increase over the previous year. Statistics Canada says 65,253 new battery-only and plug-in hybrid electric cars were registered in the first nine months of 2021, more than the number registered across 12 months in any previous year. Data for the final three months of 2021 is not yet available, but for the first nine months, EVs represented five percent of new cars registered, up from three percent in both 2020 and 2019. It becomes evident that more new electric vehicles hit the road in Canada last year than ever before.

As a result, the demand for an EV charging infrastructure, including EV charging software and mobile applications, is expected to rise and change how EV owners use and benefit from those technologies. In-Charge is working on an application that will improve EV charging infrastructure by providing EV users with the information to plan their trip, a possibility to reserve EV charging spots, fees, traffic, and other helpful driver alerts and easy-to-follow directions. In-Charge allows EV drivers to save time, create an optimal route to desired destinations, and ensure their electric car's smooth charging experience. Eventually, the mobile application will facilitate an effective and efficient means of planning and booking charging stations, mitigating issues around delays, significant pre-planning, and lack of information on the real-time availability of charging infrastructure.
