Inspire Community Network - The NGO Transforming Nigeria one Community at a Time

March 18, 2022 - PRLog -- Inspire Community Network (ICON) is a volunteer-oriented non-governmental organization that recruits, select, train, and inspire volunteers to seek, identify community-specific issues, and create solutions that respond directly to that challenge.

ICON promotes rural communities' development, advocacy for girls' education, women empowerment, youth development, and art and cultural development in all six geopolitical regions of Nigeria: South-South, South-East, and South-West. North-Central, North-West, and North-East, Nigeria–West Africa.

We believe in solutions that are created by those impacted by the problem. Our vision is to continuously identify and inspire young and emerging changemakers to develop their communities. We recognize leaders who can easily stand up against local, national, regional, and global pressing issues, and create solutions to eliminate them.

Our volunteers are critical thinkers, and independent decision-makers, guided by a supportive leadership structure to ensure success in community development.
We promote and implement the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 1,2,4,5,10 and 17, to promote rural communities' development, advocacy for girls' education, women empowerment, youth development, and art and cultural development in all six geopolitical regions of Nigeria: South-South, South-East, and South-West. North-Central, North-West, and North-East, Nigeria–West Africa. We implement these interventions under the umbrella of our Framework 4 Es: Empowerment, Education, Entrepreneurship, and Engagement.

Rural communities are confronted with challenges that are oftentimes beyond their control. Inadequate food supply, clean water, power supply, or access to basic health care. Constrained by major obstacles such as language barriers, limited resources, illiteracy, and oppressive cultural factors, it can be difficult to accept opportunities when it comes. Our volunteers approach each challenge with an open mind, learn from their community members, and create solutions that resonate with their needs. At ICON, empowerment is a collaborative process between the volunteers and their communities.
