Steen Enterprises Now Selling Hitachi Heavy Equipment Becoming Only Dealer In Sc

CHARLESTON, S.C. - March 17, 2022 - PRLog -- Steen Enterprises, the Lowcountry's premier farming and construction equipment dealer, has announced that they will become the only authorized Hitachi equipment dealer in South Carolina.

Hitachi, a worldwide leader in construction equipment – specializing in heavy equipment – selected Steen for its location, longevity, relationships, industry experience and forward-thinking leadership.

In early March, the first round of machinery will arrive from Japan at the dealership. Among the equipment Steen will carry will be utility excavators, construction excavators, reduced tail-swing excavators, compact excavators, wheel loaders and more.

Headquartered in Newnan, Georgia, Hitachi sales in the United States will be handled by Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas Inc. (HCMA). Effective March 1, HCMA began officially leading Hitachi construction and mining equipment sales, service and support efforts in the Americas. Formerly, Hitachi had a venture with John Deere.

This expansion in America is one of the most important efforts for Hitachi in its 70-year-history, said Simon Wilson, vice president of HCMA. "Over the next year, HCMA will be introducing many new models that incorporate the latest in hydraulic systems and innovative 'uptime' and IoT services, as well as increase the capabilities of Hitachi ConSite, with an initiative to add more telematics and predictive analytics to our equipment lines."

To support dealers and customers, HCMA is expanding its corporate headquarters with the addition of a 400,000-square-foot parts distribution center and more personnel. More than 60 highly-qualified individuals have already joined the team since August 2021.
