Brainium MD Sourav Sinha Sheds Light On MSME and Markets At 79th SKOCH Indian Economic Forum

KOLKATA, India - March 14, 2022 - PRLog -- In an enriching session with the stalwarts within the business and economic landscape of the country, Sourav Sinha, Managing Director of Brainium Information Technologies, put forth his views and woes on MSMEs and Markets. The one and half pour panel discussion was part of the Indian Economic Forum and LITFest 2022 itinerary at the 79th SKOCH Summit organized by the SKOCH Group.

The panel was headed by Sameer Kocchar (Chairman, SKOCH Group) in talks with Ajay Thakur (Head, SME & Startup, BSE), Deepali Pant Joshi (Distinguished Fellow, SKOCH, Former ED, RBI), Rohit Vaswani (Member, Advisory Board, BVSS), Tanvi T Auti (MD, Dhruv Consultancy Services), Kamya Chandra (Fellow, iSPIRIT Foundation), including Sourav Sinha, who acted as a voice for other MSME founders across India, sharing the experience of spearheading a service-based MSME and shedding light on the hurdles faced in securing credit over the years, especially amid the COVID crisis.

The virtual session commenced addressing the tell-tale issues regarding access to easy credit that has been affecting the MSME sector in India, with rising concerns over worsening of the situation amid the COVID ramifications and the ongoing Ukraine crisis, which are close to crippling the supply chains, ultimately hard-hitting the MSMEs.

As other panellists shared their opinion regarding mitigating these issues for the growth of the MSME sector, which is the backbone of the Indian economy, Sourav Sinha, shared his thoughts on the same.

"As a service-based MSME, we have faced difficulty in raising capital through debt financing and equity financing, even though our profits have been consistent, mainly because we are not an asset-rich organization. There is scope to raise capital through the markets, but there is a severe lack on the government and the policy-makers part to inform and educate about the different aids available, such as the SME listing. However, that gap can be filled by hosting more virtual training sessions and seminars", commented the Managing Director of Brainium Information Technologies.

The forum on MSME & Markets was an insightful one that would help companies within the Indian MSME sector to use amenities like SME listing to replenish their capital reserve and scale growth.
