BEDMINSTER, N.J. - March 8, 2022 - PRLog -- Each year, for the past twenty-one years, in recognition of Youth Art Month, The Center for Contemporary Art has presented exhibitions of Somerset County student work in partnership with Art Educators of New Jersey (AENJ). Youth Art Month has an extensive history going back to 1961 and is supported by the National Art Education Association.

In Somerset County, 12 art teachers from 8 schools are participating in Youth Art Month. Fourteen works of art from Somerset County have been selected for the state exhibition. The young artists selected for the state exhibition are:
  • Silas Pennington, 3rd grade, Whiton Elementary School, Teacher: Christopher Boehm
  • Aurelia Midura, 4th grade, Stony Brook School, Teacher: Samantha Rueger
  • Zoya Khan, 5th grade, Stony Brook School, Teacher: Samantha Rueger
  • Phoebe Montemurro, 11th grade, Somerville High School, Teacher: Jennifer Stafford
  • Amelia Chlipalski, 8th grade, Branchburg Central Middle School, Teacher: Meghan Russo
  • Valentina Spagnolo, 7th grade, Branchburg Central Middle School, Teacher: Meghan Russo
  • AnnMarie Mosquera, 12th grade, Bound Brook High School, Teacher: Elizabeth Levering
  • Priscilla Ugalde, 11th grade, Bound Brook High School, Teacher: Elizabeth Levering
  • Sherlyn A. Herrera, 10th grade, Bound Brook High School, Teacher: Janet Gattone
  • Maia Vidal, 9th grade, Somerville High School, Teacher: Jennifer Stafford
  • Ryan Sibaja, 10th grade, Somerville High School, Teacher: Lisa Conklin
  • Ethan Szeman, 10th grade, Somerville High School, Teacher: Lisa Conklin
  • Meryem Erdal, 12th grade, Watchung Hills Regional High School, Teacher: Kate Griffin
  • Laura Matos, 11th grade, Watchung Hills Regional High School, Teacher: Kate Griffin
Youth Art Month is on view now through April 8th and presents students in grades K through 12.
