Exceeding Motherhood Launches on International Women's Day

NEW YORK - March 8, 2022 - PRLog -- Exceeding Motherhood, an organization dedicated to women who opt out of careers for motherhood, launched on International Women's Day. The community began as a grassroots effort of its founder, Antonella Rocco, to bring together women who left the workforce or downsized their careers for their children. The group met during the pandemic at outdoor parks in New York City. Exceeding Motherhood will bring more focus to the cause, by providing networking opportunities, creating digital content, curating resources, and seeking partnerships to serve this community.

"Women who drop out of the workforce as a consequence of motherhood are often underutilized and underserved. Many mom-focused organizations are geared either toward the parenting aspect, or on working moms. Exceeding Motherhood seeks to represent talented, competent women who have much to offer while living through their stay at home phase," said Ms. Rocco.

Exceeding Motherhood will focus on what it's members are hoping to achieve beyond motherhood. "What we learned is that while some women hope to re-enter the workforce in similar roles to the ones that they left, many have different plans, including entrepreneurship, career and lifestyle shifts, and pursuing their passions," added Rocco.
