Skerrit Bwoy releases his debut album 'Jesus Party Vol. 1'

NEW YORK - March 8, 2022 - PRLog -- Skerrit Bwoy takes us on an electric journey, infused with Christian, dancehall, and reggae roots in his debut album, the first volume of three, 'Jesus Party Vol. 1'. The album includes 11 body pulsing tracks, each bursting with unique beats, influenced by artists such as Bob Marley and Kirk Franklin. Skerrit Bwoy's vibe for the album is to "party every day and turn up in Jesus' name", which you experience instantly within the second track 'Jesus Party'. Making the music "God told him too", Skerrit Bwoy explained that writing "was the longest process" because all he had ever known was dancing to music and how to DJ and MC. Recorded mostly with just his mic, Ableton Live, and laptop, Skerrit Bwoy enjoyed the recording process of 'Jesus Party Vol. 1', getting his songs "outta his head and into reality", writing lyrics first, and building a beat around them. Skerrit Bwoy tried to focus on "introducing people to fresh hard-hitting music...in an uplifting and fulfilling manner".

Born in Antigua in the Caribbean, Skerrit Bwoy immigrated to the Bronx, New York. Inspired by his successful father and uncle, who were both local deejays, he produced mixtapes using reggae and dancehall recordings from the radio, as a young boy. Skerrit Bwoy's innovative creativity led him to become a producer, artist, DJ and MC, performing on "just about every major festival stage in over 50 countries", touring as a part of Major Lazer with producers such as Diplo and Switch. No stranger to the entertainment industry, Skerrit Bwoy has been "featured by prominent media outlets such as CNN, Large Up, The Fader and even had a Documentary entitled 'Temporary Sanity,'' by Dan Bruun, which went on to be featured in several film festivals around the world". Skerrit Bwoy continued producing music, deejaying in night clubs and festivals throughout New York, the Caribbean, Asia, and more.
