Local Professional Football Player, Demetrich Anderton, Signs With Los Cabos Marlins (FAM)

GARNER, N.C. - Feb. 25, 2022 - PRLog -- Black Diamond PR & Sport Management Firm, one of the top 10 independently owned Sport Management Firms in the U.S., is pleased to announce the signing of their client, and Garner native, Demetrich Anderton, to the Los Cabos Marlins. The Los Cabos Marlins are a professional football team in the Liga De Futbol Americano De Mexico League (FAM), located in San Jose del Cabo.

Demetrich Anderton, a Garner resident, is a 6'3, 330 lb offensive lineman. He has been specifically trained as a center or guard. While Demetrich did not attend college to play football, he has not let that hinder his professional career. Anderton has played with many different teams during his tenure in professional football; Team EURO, Carolina Cowboyz, Carolina Predators, Carolina Cobras and now the Los Cabos Marlins. In addition to his massive frame, his speed and agility were key signing traits for the Marlins. Demetrich has proven to be a skilled weapon on-the field and will be a valued addition to the team in the upcoming season.

The Los Cabos Marlins were introduced to the FAM league in 2020 for their inaugural season. Unfortunately, after only 4 weeks the season was canceled due to the pandemic. The Marlins come back this season led by head coach Cesar Martinez. Coach Martinez is excited to be able to play their first full season and hopefully bring home a championship to Los Cabos.

The Mexican American Football (FAM) was founded in 2018 playing their inaugural season in 2019. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak the league took a 2 year hiatus and will return in 2022 with nine teams. Since the league's inception, it has doubled in size because of the popularity of American football in Mexico, which has become the second most popular sport in the country.
