Shero Comics Casts a Spell on Viewers with Magical New Film, "Dick Control"

Short Film Gets High Marks and Countless Invites From International Film Festivals
LOS ANGELES - Feb. 23, 2022 - PRLog -- Following in the footsteps of classic 80's films like "Teen Witch" and "Weird Science," female-focused multimedia company Shero Comics recently dropped a little black girl magic into the social media universe with the release of its' zany new comedy flick, "Dick Control." Starring Curtis Hamilton ("Insecure," "Kings of Napa"), and written & directed by Shequeta L. Smith ("Rayven Choi," "Taking the Throne"), the film drops us into the flamboyant lifestyle of Richard Tye "Trigga" Simmons, a rich, Grammy-nominated rapper with a revolving door of groupies.

Similar to Drake's recent hot sauce debacle, Trigga has a one-night stand that goes awry when he sleeps with a beautiful witch, Brooklyn Hunter. After a heated argument over respect, Trigga's life is turned upside down when Brooklyn places a curse that renders him impotent until he learns to respect women.

The film has been a complete hit amongst cinephiles who have been singing its' praises on YouTube and across social media. Additionally, the film festival circuit has already begun circling. In just the past week, the film has received invitations from over seventy-five film festivals from Los Angeles to Australia.

"As a comedy writer, I don't feel like there's enough comedy happening in Hollywood these days. So, instead of sitting around and complaining about it, I decided to finance and shoot this film to cheer the world up while simultaneously proving to Hollywood that people are ready to laugh again. Getting the overwhelmingly positive response that we've received so far has been validating, and I'm looking forward to taking this film across the globe," said Smith.

Smith is not only bringing the magic to our four screens but she's got the music too. The Dick Control soundtrack features music from seven unsigned rappers that Smith found after posting an ad on Instagram. The former Def Jam/Roc-A-Fella intern received over two hundred submissions that her team narrowed down to just seven. The music of artists Zayy Dogg, Ty Lotto, #WordsorLess, Jay PrĂme, Distinguish The God, King Content, and Jayahbi make up the Coachella-worthy soundtrack that can all be found on their Apple Music.

"Dick Control" is now playing for free on Smith's Rayven Choi YouTube Channel To learn more about Shero Comics, visit their website:
