JKEEFER presents debut collection 'Series 01 | Repeater'

NEW YORK - Feb. 14, 2022 - PRLog -- The inception of JKEEFER Series 1-Repeater was guided by the ethos of the brand; to create a reductionist wardrobe of timeless and trend adverse garments. An exploration of the relationship between the minimalist art movement and punk music is woven throughout the JKEEFER brand. Series 1-Repeater examines that relationship, through the use of light and shadow, the feelings derived from their contrast and how the two require the other to exist.

For the brand's first collection, Series 1-Repeater explores the symbiosis of these two movements, with the works of Richard Serra inspiring the design process. Serra's work regularly alters the viewer's perception of their environment in new ways. The artist's constrained use of materials, colors, and sculpture challenge the viewer's sense of space and they are often asked to examine the balance of the work versus it's environment. Whereas the collection name, Repeater, reflects Serra's use of repetition, with a nod to the iconic Fugazzi album of the same name. By exploring the work from these two movements, JKEEFER embeds the idea of how art can inform the creation of a collection.

Old world techniques applied in a modern context are the cornerstone of JKEEFER. With an emphasis on detailed tailoring, Series 1-Repeater challenges the traditional concept of a reductive wardrobe and presents a collection of garments reinvented using luxurious fabrics and colors. The garments shown in Series 1-Repeater are offered in Loro Piana cashmere, organic Italian wools, organic Italian cotton, Aniline Italian leather and Japanese poplin focusing on the core colors of oxidized brown, cement gray, cor-ten orange, fiberglass white and black.
