Actor Bob Saget's Cause of Death was a Brain Injury

Feb. 11, 2022 - PRLog -- Earlier this week, the family of actor and comedian Bob Saget announced his cause of death was from blunt head trauma. Autopsy reports concluded he fell or hit his head, thought nothing of it, and laid down. This is an important reminder that falls should be taken seriously. All brain injuries, no matter how "mild," can have catastrophic consequences.

Anne McDonnell, Executive Director of the Brain Injury Association of Virginia said, "It's obvious from the list of injuries that Mr. Saget fell really hard. Proper diagnosis and treatment of this life threatening injury is critical to survival and recovery, and we're very sad he joins a long list of others who have fallen and died from a TBI, including Natasha Richardson, Katherine Graham and Carl Reiner."

Falls are the number one cause of a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in the United States and Virginia. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek medical attention: vision changes, balance issues, headaches, changes in personality, mood, and behaviors, or just even "feeling off." Brain injuries should be taken seriously.

The Brain Injury Association of Virginia (BIAV) educates the public about brain injuries and provides support to the brain injury community. Through one on one consultations with brain injury experts, resource library, online and virtual support groups, and referral services, we provide personalized and timely assistance to address any questions regarding brain injuries.

The Brain Injury Association of Virginia sends our condolences to the family and friends of Bob Saget.
