Valentine's Day Weekend in Idyllwild, California with Mayor Max

IDYLLWILD, Calif. - Feb. 10, 2022 - PRLog -- Mayor Max of Idyllwild, California, his Deputy Mayors Mikey and Mitzi (all Golden Retrievers), and his Chief of Staff, Phyllis Mueller, invite you to visit Idyllwild during the weekend of Valentine's Day that includes Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, February 12, 13, and 14, 2022.

At 2 p.m. on all three days, the Mayor and his Deputies will be downtown for visiting and will be giving away the Mayor's 2022 12x12" 40-page calendars and Deputy Mayor dog ties for small and large dogs, while supplies last. Dogs do not have to be present to receive their ties.

Pet owners receive a free Mayor Max tie for each of their dogs. The dogs are then made part of Mayor Max's global team of Deputy Mayors that are asked to convey unconditional love and do as many good deeds for others as possible. Each Deputy Mayor becomes a member of Mayor Max's Peace on Earth Team (POET).

As Idyllwild is a non-incorporated town, it has no human politicians. Idyllwild Animal Rescue Friends (ARF), a non-profit 501(c)(3), sponsored Idyllwild's first-ever mayoral election. Any local resident was permitted to nominate his or her dog or cat. Fourteen dogs and two cats were nominated and ran for office. Constituents cast their votes via $1 donations each, and all $31,000 of the proceeds benefited ARF.

Max Mayor, the First, won a full two-thirds of the votes, and became Idyllwild's first Mayor, serving one year of a two-year term before passing away of old age. In 2013, Mayor Max, the Second, became Idyllwild's second Mayor and is the current Mayor of Idyllwild since July 21, 2013. In the third voted election in Idyllwild, Mayor Max, the Second, was appointed Mayor for Life.

The Mayor's normal downtown visitation hours commence at 4:00 p.m. on weekdays and 2:00 p.m. on weekends. However, as Valentine's Day falls on a Monday this year, the Mayor and his two Deputies will be downtown at 2 p.m. on all three days in front of Wooley's at 54274 N. Circle Drive, Idyllwild, CA 92549.
