Reform Party to Build on Perot Legacy

The Reform Party is beginning its search for a 2024 Presidential Candidate.

DALLAS - Jan. 29, 2022 - PRLog -- In 1992, Ross Perot ran for President. The Texas businessman highlighted several issues that had been thoroughly ignored, including a laundry list of economic issues and the national debt. At the conclusion of his presidential run, he received twenty percent of the popular vote. His Presidential run was the best showing from an independent candidate since Theodore Roosevelt in the early 1900s.

During the 1996 Presidential race, Ross Perot would run again. The 1996 presidential campaign was different, because it was a vehicle to launch a new political party to advocate for the same issues. This party would be bigger than one man, and fight for reform at every level of government.

Many early Reform Party members won local elections, and in 1998, Jesse Ventura was elected Governor of Minnesota on the Reform Party line. The Republican Party, to minimize the Reform Party's gains, adopted parts of the Reform Party platform to their "Contract with America".

The Republican Party never followed the contract, and never planned to. Two years after creating the "Contract with America", the Republican Party ripped it up without finding solutions.

These issues matter. The National Debt was four trillion in 1992, and now stands at thirty trillion. In 1992, America's trade deficit was thirty-nine billion, and now stands at six hundred and sixteen billion.

"A weak currency is the sign of a weak economy, and a weak economy leads to a weak nation," stated Ross Perot in 1992.

It has been thirty years since Ross Perot spoke these wise words, but words are not enough. The Reform Party is seeking action, by running candidates that will follow in Perot's footsteps, and advocate for common sense solutions at all levels of government in 2022 and 2024.

Though it seeks to run a Presidential candidate in 2024, and is actively looking for a strong presidential candidate to carry the Reform Party banner, the Reform Party's primary focus is to build an organization from the bottom up. With a focus on local candidates and ballot access, it seeks to build strong grassroots that will carry a national candidate to victory.

The Reform Party is a moderate, centrist party founded in 1996 by the supporters of Ross Perot. The Reform Party advocates for a moderate platform centered around common sense, moderate solutions for today's political issues. It is funded by small donors and has never taken money from political action committees (PACs). It is possible to find out more about the Reform Party, or donate a small amount, by visiting www.reformparty.org. The Reform Party is always looking for volunteers and candidates for office.
