ACEC/MA Announces Tighe & Bond as a 2021 Engineering Silver Excellence Award Winner

WORCESTER, Mass. - Jan. 28, 2022 - PRLog -- ACEC/MA Announces Tighe & Bond as a 2021 Engineering Silver Excellence Award Winner for their work on the Memorial Beach Water Treatment Plant in Webster, MA.

WEBSTER AND BOSTON, MA, JANUARY 28, 2022, – The American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts (ACEC/MA) has named  Tighe & Bond as a 2021 Silver Engineering Excellence Award winner for their work on the Memorial Beach Water Treatment Plant in Webster, MA.

The Town of Webster's Memorial Beach Water Treatment Plant uses an economic and sustainable filtration system to mitigate elevated levels of iron and manganese in the groundwater and provide clean, safe drinking water. Tighe & Bond Inc.'s design used GreensandPlus™ filtration with the unique addition of a water recycling system and repurposing an existing pump station facility to provide a cost-effective long-term solution to water quality issues. With the plant located between Webster Lake and a walking track, the facility was designed to be aesthetically pleasing to the area and constructed with minimal impacts to the town's largest recreational area.

The 2021 Engineering Excellence Awards were recently announced and was celebrated at the virtual ACEC/MA Engineering Excellence and Awards Gala. The awards celebrate innovation, ingenuity, and excellence in engineering achievement
