Award-winning Canadian author Roslyn Franken speaks at UN World Interfaith Harmony Week Event

As part of UN World Interfaith Harmony Week, the Interfaith Council of Halton presents author Roslyn Franken who will share her parents' inspirational life story as Holocaust and atomic bomb survivors, as told in her award-winning book, Meant to Be.

TORONTO - Jan. 27, 2022 - PRLog -- By boosting people's awareness, compassion and empathy for what victims and survivors like her parents suffered during WWII, Roslyn helps people understand the dangers of what today's levels of discrimination, hate and evil can lead to if we don't stop it, and to embrace a greater spirit of interfaith tolerance, respect, community and peace so needed in our world today. By sharing how her parents survived, met and found enduring love against all odds, and were known for their joyful spirit, appreciation of life, and kindness to all others regardless of differences, Roslyn also inspires people with a greater sense of hope, resiliency and positivity in facing their own life adversities and in their acceptance of others of different faiths.

Roslyn's parents' story was the subject of a Gemini Award-nominated CBC television documentary and her book, Meant to Be, winner of the GOLD award from the Nonfiction Book Awards, has been adapted for production as a feature-length movie currently in development.

Roslyn will be available for Q & A following the presentation. Her book is available at www.RoslynFranken.com and on Amazon.

The event takes place via Zoom on February 1, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. EST. It is free to attend and all are welcome. Register online at www.InterfaithCouncilHalton.com  or by calling 905-849-6000.
